چکیده
enough room for graft implantation or during closing the incision when one improper stitch can tear the peritoneum leading to a defect. Careful dissection should be performed in all cases, and if a peritoneal defect is found, it should be closed regardless of its size to avoid the occurrence of a PH. All in all, PH is a relatively uncommon but potentially fatal complication after renal transplantation, and its nonspecific symptoms may lead to misdiagnosis. Physician awareness, prompt diagnosis, and early surgical intervention are crucial. Additionally, meticulous surgical technique during transplantation may help avoid this complication. Mesenchymal or Maintenance Stem Cell & Understanding their Role in Osteoarthritis of the Knee Joint: A Review Article
Mesenchymal Stem Cell (MSC) therapy in osteoarthritis has been hailed as a promising treatment for osteoarthritis dueto their unlimited potential of healing and regeneration. Existing literature regarding their proper name, optimal sources, mechanisms of action, dosage, and route of administration, efficacy, and safety is debatable. This index review articlehas tried to connect...
متن کاملIntra-articular injection of expanded autologous bone marrow mesenchymal cells in moderate and severe knee osteoarthritis is safe: a phase I/II study
BACKGROUND Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a major health problem especially in the aging population. There is a need for safe treatment that restores the cartilage and reduces the symptoms. The use of stem cells is emerging as a possible option for the moderate and severe cases. This study aimed at testing the safety of autologous bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) expanded in vitro whe...
متن کاملTreatment of knee osteoarthritis with autologous mesenchymal stem cells: a pilot study.
BACKGROUND Osteoarthritis is the most prevalent joint disease and a frequent cause of joint pain, functional loss, and disability. Osteoarthritis often becomes chronic, and conventional treatments have demonstrated only modest clinical benefits without lesion reversal. Cell-based therapies have shown encouraging results in both animal studies and a few human case reports. We designed a pilot st...
متن کاملThe Healing Effect of Bone Marrow-Derived Stem Cells in Knee Osteoarthritis: A Case Report
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a prevalent chronic disease impacting on quality of life and has societal and economical burden increasing with age. Yet, no confirmed pharmacological, biological or surgical therapy could prevent the progressive destruction of OA joint. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) with immunosuppressive activities emerged a potential therapy. We describe a magnetic resonance images (MR...
متن کاملCombination of bone marrow derived cells transplantation and high tibial osteotomy in early osteoarthritis of knee: A preliminary study
Purpose: high tibial osteotomy (HTO) is a recommended treatment for medial compartment knee osteoarthritis. Newer cartilage regenerative procedures may add benefits to the result of HTO. In this prospective study we investigate safety and also results of HTO associated with bone marrow derived cells (BMDC) transplantation in relatively young and middle aged active individuals with early osteoar...
متن کاملThe Effect of Exercise, Ozone, and Mesenchymal Stem Cells Therapy on CB-1 and GABA Gene Expression in the Cartilage Tissue of Rats With Knee Osteoarthritis
Background: Studies have reported the beneficial effects of exercise, ozone therapy, and stem cell therapy for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Objectives: To reduce the duration of the treatment, we decided to investigate the synergistic effects of Endurance Training (ET), ozone therapy, and mesenchymal stem cell (MSCs) therapy separately or in combination on the cannabinoid receptors 1...
